“Blessed in Lawrence County” is a blog celebrating life in this part of Southern Middle Tennessee.
Located on the border of Alabama and about 80 miles southwest of Nashville, Lawrence County is home to 42,000. Lawrenceburg is the county seat with about 10,500 residents; there three other incorporated towns: Ethridge, Loretto, and St. Joseph, and several smaller communities. Still, we are primarily rural, with plenty of woods, creeks, fields, and rolling hills.
“Blessed” is designed to remind those who visit or live here that there are many reasons, big and small, to be grateful. This blog will focus on the history, natural resources, events and people that give us cause to be thankful.
The practice of gratitude (from a religious or secular point of view) makes people happier and healthier in every area of their lives. The purpose of this blog is to multiply those benefits in our community and outside it.
“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings,” wrote William Arthur Ward.
